2018/19 season...
At the end of the season for the yard, all the horses have gone out to grass and are looking really well for it. Considering the exceptionally dry Autumn and Spring, the statistics are 14% wins to runs overall including 27% chase wins to runs.
Burgess Dream, after a late start to his campaign due to the firm ground, won twice within two weeks, one being a very close photo finish. Both these wins came in December. Goring One won spectacularly with Rex Dingle aboard at Lingfield in January, for which Rex won ride of the month awarded by At The Races. Beet Topper, our new recruit to the yard last season, proved to be quite green early on, but ran a very nice race on his third hurdle run at Plumpton to be 4th gaining a strong enough handicap mark. He is still filling out and is to be campaigned over fences next season. During the latter part of the season, Go George Go retired to a good home due to the recurrence of an old leg injury.

I'm happy to welcome two new recruits to the yard for the forthcoming season. The grey, Go George Go, has won on the flat and will be going jumping this season, also Beet Topper placed in point to points in Ireland looks to have a nice future ahead of him. They have both started their fittening process walking up and down our tracks around Jevington and on the Downs.
The evergreen Goring One, who still loves the job, is having his final season with us. He finished last Spring in cracking form and he will be carefully campaigned this term.
Also coming back for this coming season, Burgess Dream who won his chase at the back end of last season and who also put up many good performances over hurdles. He's tough and consistent, and i'm looking forward to another good season with him. There are a few lease shares still available in this small and friendly syndicate, please contact me if you are interested at annanewtonsmith@gmail.com
***A new syndicate is in the process of being formed with a view to buying another horse for the yard, primarily to go chasing. If you are interested in joining, please send an email to annanewtonsmith@gmail.com
